Laura’s life was filled with music. From singing in the high school choir to playing piano and guitar, she had a natural rhythm that carried into motherhood. When our son Samuel was born, she would sing to him every day—songs that made him smile, laugh, and dance. Her warmth lit up every room she entered.
In 2007, Laura was diagnosed with BRCA1 and triple-negative breast cancer, an especially aggressive form of the disease. She faced it with extraordinary courage, fighting valiantly for four years before passing on June 11, 2011.
Laura loved angels, and the number 11 held special meaning for her. In her memory—and in celebration of her love, strength, and spirit—we created 11th Angel.
This space honors Laura’s legacy and the light she left behind.
Music has always been a quiet thread running through Ray’s life. Though he began playing back in 1994, it wasn’t until 2019—after the loss of his beloved wife Laura—that he found the courage to step onto a stage. That first performance was a tribute to her, and by his side was their 14-year-old son, Samúel.
Raised in a home filled with music from both Mama y Papa, Samúel quickly found his own voice. Within a year of picking up an instrument, he surpassed his dad, showing a natural gift and a deep passion. Now 18, Samúel dreams of life on the road, writing, recording, and sharing music that connects and heals.
11th Angel was born from love, loss, and legacy. It honors Laura Quezada—Ray’s late wife, Samúel’s mama, and the angel who continues to inspire every note we play.
